Merdan Taplak (a 28y old dj/producer from Antwerp, Belgium) has made a name for himself by touring as a dj and - mainly in the last 2 years - a live band, including some atypical Balkan Beats brass section. He played the biggest stages around, based on his live reputation. Some of his previous tracks are listed on some compilations like Electro Swing and as a deejay he gigged in most European countries.

His debut album In It For The Honey will be released February 2012 and will focus on a blend of electronic music with Eastern grooves. As he's half-Turkish, he really feels the need to connect his musical roots with the electronica that he discovered as a teenager. For the album he is cooperating with Styrofoam (producer, signed worldwide at Nettwerk), a really cool guy who's teaching him a lot. They've been working on the album together now for some weeks, and it's really getting the right flow. Some very cool artists are featuring on this release: The Glimmers - Princess Superstar - Fat Jon - Kraantje Pappie (rising star in the dutch hip hop scene) and a few local Belgian/Turkish talents.
